In view of Makar Sankranti and upcoming festivals in Udaipur, Section 144 has been imposed by the Udaipur administration. Section 144 has been set from January 11 to January 31. Everyone can make the festival of Makar Sankranti peaceful and there should be no loss of life or harm to birds. In view of this, the District Collector has implemented Section 144 in the district till January 31.
ADM City Prabha Gautam told that District Collector and District Magistrate Tarachand Meena, with a view to preventing loss of life and property to two-wheeler drivers and birds by using metal mixed manjha for kite flying on Makar Sankranti festival has invoked the provisions of section 144 to prohibit the wholesale and retail sale and use of manjha made of metal within the limits of the district. Given the information that this order will be effective till January 31, it has been clarified that disobedience or violation of this prohibition will be punished under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code. Appealing to the residents of the district, Gautam said that festivals are celebrated to spread happiness, in such a way everyone should try that no one gets harmed because of them. Everyone should celebrate the festival with laughter and happiness.
According to the order issued by the administration, to save the birds from kite flying, there will be a ban on kite flying from 6 to 8 in the morning and from 5 to 7 in the evening. Along with this, the administration will also monitor that metal manjha should not be sold at any shop or place. But even after this, if any person is found involved in such activity then legal action will be taken against him.
