As part of an effort to increase awareness about key government initiatives ahead of the 2024 general elections, designated selfie points have been established across the city, showcasing various flagship schemes.

His schedule includes inspecting a Guard of Honour and hoisting the National Flag. Islamic Centre of India issues guidelines for I-Day
Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, who is the chairman of the Islamic Centre of India, has given instructions for celebrating Independence Day. He said that the Islamic Centre of India has provided some guidelines for August 15th and is urging all Indians to celebrate this day enthusiastically. They have also requested all organizations to raise the national flag and sing the national anthem during the event.

Independence Day 2023 Live: A three-tier security blanket involving helicopter reconnaissance and drone surveillance has been planned to ensure smooth and peaceful Independence Day celebrations in Kashmir, officials said on Monday.
Authorities have said internet services will not be suspended during the celebrations as used to be done until a few years ago.
Independence Day 2023 Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday remembered those who lost their lives during the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947.
“Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is an occasion to reverently remember those Indians whose lives were sacrificed in the partition of the country. Along with this, this day also reminds us of the suffering and struggle of those who were forced to bear the brunt of displacement. I salute all such people,” PM Modi said in a tweet in Hindi.

He paid his respects to those who lost their lives during that period and referred to the division of the country based on religion as a “dark chapter” in history.
Amit Shah further emphasized that the nation had to bear a significant and unfortunate cost due to this division.
