Adding to the significance of the day, around 1,800 special guests, including sarpanches (village heads), Khadi workers, primary school teachers, and nurses, have been extended invitations to join in the 77th Independence Day festivities in New Delhi on August 15. This inclusive approach underscores the diversity and unity that characterize our nation.
As part of an effort to increase awareness about key government initiatives ahead of the 2024 general elections, designated selfie points have been established across the city, showcasing various flagship schemes.
The pivotal moment of the celebration will be Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, as he delivers an impactful speech from the Red Fort. His schedule includes inspecting a Guard of Honour and hoisting the National Flag. Adding to the patriotic fervor, President Droupadi Murmu will address the nation on the eve of the 77th Independence Day, on Monday, August 14.

Islamic Centre of India issues guidelines for I-Day
Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, who is the chairman of the Islamic Centre of India, has given instructions for celebrating Independence Day. He said that the Islamic Centre of India has provided some guidelines for August 15th and is urging all Indians to celebrate this day enthusiastically. They have also requested all organizations to raise the national flag and sing the national anthem during the event.

Three-tier security for Independence Day in Kashmir
Independence Day 2023 Live: A three-tier security blanket involving helicopter reconnaissance and drone surveillance has been planned to ensure smooth and peaceful Independence Day celebrations in Kashmir, officials said on Monday.
Authorities have said internet services will not be suspended during the celebrations as used to be done until a few years ago.
PM Modi recalls pain of people on ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’
Independence Day 2023 Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday remembered those who lost their lives during the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947.

He paid his respects to those who lost their lives during that period and referred to the division of the country based on religion as a “dark chapter” in history.
Amit Shah further emphasized that the nation had to bear a significant and unfortunate cost due to this division.
